The surroundings and restaurant is plain and basic but i have found some of the best places can be found in the most out of the way places.
Nice friendly staff where you get to hear about how and where they grew up and happy to talk openly from the heart.
The Chicken Tikka Biryani was infused with a special blend of spices and different to just plain or pilau rice as full of flavour and different to anything I have had which is a good thing when it comes to food. Also comes with an egg and a large portion, I had not eaten the whole day and this filled me up.
Comes with a Vegetable Curry which was savoury and complimented the dish and good size curry provided.
Really enjoyed the dish and you can tell this is home made with a large menu and better than a fast food take away so worth every penny.
One last thing if you ask for spicy you will get some hot chillies so it will be spicy...you have been warned. -

If you're a college student looking for a good meal for less than 5 quid, come here!
I stumbled upon this place on my last day in London with the intention of having biryani as my last meal there. Now why did I choose place as opposed to all others? The freshly made vat of biryani in the window got me. I've never had authentic biryani before but I have to say that it was good authentic or not. It contained an array of herbs, spices, peppers, and even lemon peel. Interesting no? In addition to the rice dish, you get to choose one side to go with your order. I got the chickpeas and thought it was very well seasoned. The food was also fresh which I think is very important in any establishment.
Overall, for the price and what you get, I thought it was very good. I would go again!
Tip: if you're nice, the Guy might just give you a little extra food (; -

So why did I drive an hour and struggle for 20 mins to get a parking space just to get my hands on some biryani? According to some random blog, Biryani House and its next door neighbour Dhaka Biryani are among those really rare places in London that make biryani the way its meant to be made traditionally, and not just mix rice with curry and meat.
The place is quite tiny, but I chose it over Dhaka biryani only because this place has no reviews, and Dhaka Biryani does have quite a few.
Now the real stuff...the Biryani itself. I got myself a lamb biryani, which was served with an egg on top. I am not sure if it really was made the genuine way, but the taste was slightly off mark. Maybe I am used more to Hyderabadi and Sindhi style biryani than the Bangladeshi style, but somehow it just didn't hit the spot. Worst of all, the lamb was very chewy and non tender. The food was worth 2 stars, but an extra star for the low cost (£ 4.50) and the man who didn't stop smiling throughout! -

Lovely place offering fantastic food and service. I went to the Biriyani House last week and it was a great experience. I was with my husband and we wanted to have a romantic dinner, so he chose the place. I was a bit surprised that this restaurant was the one he choose, since I didnt expect much from it in first place.
Food was more than excellent, as 'temi' said the lam is fantastic, especially when you drink red wine with it.A downside is that the place is quite small and thank God that my husband had booked a table few days earlier. Well the food the quality of the food and the service compensates that. Staff are so polite and kind, being all welcome and making sure that you enjoy your stay to the fullest. Considering the food, the prices were nothing to worry about at all.
I will definitely come here more often when I have the chance.
